Our congregation is honoring the modern State of Israel’s 75th Anniversary. We are presently showing scenes from Israel on the screens throughout the building and on our YouTube channel. If you have been to Israel and would like to share some of your favorite pictures, we will create more slideshows between now and Yom Ha-atzmaut (Israel Independence Day), April 26. HIAS - Giving help and hope this holiday season! Seven years ago, the Hebrew Immigration Aid Society (HIAS) introduced our congregation to a family living in Lansdale who needed assistance. The single mother is diabetic, has suffered two debilitating strokes, and is unable to work. The older daughter is employed as a factory worker earning slightly more than minimum wage. All her income is devoted to support of the family.
For those who would like to join in helping this family, donations can be made to Rabbi Leib’s Discretionary Fund, with the notation “HIAS Family”. Rabbi will distribute accumulated funds to pay for some of the family’s expenses of medicine, clothing, utility bills and auto repairs when they can’t make ends meet.
