Have you ever wondered what it means to stand at Sinai? This is arguably one of the most important questions – and challenges – of our day. For if not, it means that we are perpetually bound to Egypt. Having undertaken our long, 7-week journey from Pesach to Shavuot, from the enslavement of Egypt to the sovereignty of Sinai, we invite you to join with us as we stand, once more, at Sinai’s foot ready, willing, and able to renew the ancient covenantal promise. Together, as one community of faith, we’ll renew that ageless vow around the Torah table, and hear the stirring, majestic words of Exodus 20, the Ten Commandments. In addition, we’ll celebrate the “confirmation” of Eliana Rubin, daughter of Jody and Bruce Rubin, as she pledges her devotion to a life of Torah. Our Shavuot service will, of course, include the full recitation of Yizkor. An unforgettable and joyous celebration of Torah to be followed by a delicious, dairy reception!

Zach Anderson, who became a Bar Mitzvah at Old York Road Temple-Beth Am in 2014, has created and produced document, ANTISEMITISM: HERE ON OUR CAMPUS that was just released on YouTube. Zach will graduate this weekend from Boston University with a dual degree in Economics and Psychology. Zach, the son of Penny & Paul Anderson, was a four-year student manager of BU’s men’s basketball team and president of his fraternity, Sigma Chi.
This is a very professional video that explores antisemitism not just on college campuses, but in contemporary America from both the right and left extremes of the political spectrum. There is some “adult language,” but the real obscenity is the antisemitism on display in the video. You can view Zach’s videohere.
